Finite elements for engineers
Abstract
The course will present the finite element method (FEM) starting from its historical development and general impact in engineering. It will then present the classes of problems which can be solved with it, along with several examples spanning from electrical machines, to high frequency electromagnetic and thermal or civil engineering.
Part of the course will be devoted to advanced techniques for speeding up computation.
