Marina Mazzoni  was born in Firenze (Italy) in 1950. He received his laurea degree in Physics from the University of Florence, Italy, in 1975. From 1975 to 1982 she worked in the University of Florence, in the Officine Galileo and for Conel in Florence. From October 1982 until June 2015 she worked at IFAC-CNR in Florence, as a researcher in several fields as laser applications, spectroscopy, and sensors. From July 2015 until now she is an associate researcher in the nanomaterial technology for energy and medicine.
