As the name suggests, the main, although not the unique, goal of the Microelectronics System Design Laboratory is developing custom real-time systems based on advanced electronic devices, for different fields of application. However, a notable specificity of the lab is surely the multidisciplinary attitude of his members, who like to extend their skills from electronics to real-time signal processing, from bioengineering and informatics to physics.
Correspondingly, the main research interests of the group are in (but not limited to) the field of ultrasound, which is actually multidisciplinary in nature. Here, the MSDLab has introduced original processing methods and novel Doppler and imaging systems, for both biomedical and industrial applications.
