The Venue

The Conference will be held in Artimino, a small village situated on the peak of a hill surrounded by woods and vineyards, about 30 km West of Florence.

The Conference participants will be accommodated either in the hotel rooms of the “Paggeria Medicea” or in village apartments, in true Tuscan style, situated within the medieval walls.

All rooms are in peaceful locations, with a wonderful view of the surrounding hills, at the same time offering the highest level of hospitality (restaurant facilities, Wi-Fi, swimming-pool, tennis courts, mountain bikes, …).


The Conference room will be located in the Medici villa 'La Ferdinanda', a renowned historical home whose construction goes back to the year 1596 on a design of Bernardo Buontalenti, and by order of the Great Duke Ferdinando I.

Ground Transportation

Option 1

Participants will meet in piazza Adua, very close to the Central Railway Station in Florence (see map) on Sunday, June 26, at 3:40 pm. The first coach leaves at 4:00 pm. A second coach will leave at 4:15 pm.

The journey from downtown Florence to Artimino should be approximately 45 minutes long.

Option 2

Artimino can also be reached from SIGNA railway station: From the (Florence or Pisa) railway station, take a train Florence-Pisa (or Pisa-Florence), checking that it stops in SIGNA.

If you call in advance the office in Artimino (tel. 0039055875141), when you arrive in SIGNA, a car with driver will be waiting for you and drive you to Artimino in about 10 minutes. The service costs about 5 Euros per person.

Option 3
